Oh how I miss campus life!
When I was in high school those teachers on practice used to really psyche us up for campus life. How the HELB was a huge amount of free money at your disposal, too much freedom, no reading-WAIT, what? No reading? How?
This is where we were misled.
When in campus we always want to convince ourselves that we don’t have to read for our cats and exams till we reach our final year, probably the final semester when now the panic of following up on your aggregate is catching up and some of your closest drinking and idling buddies have better transcripts than you do . Truth is…you have to-if you want nothing less than a second class honors of course.
BUT…not reading comes with a price if you want to get good grades. Sex or money. But the money bit is not easy in campus.
Some lecturers are strict and cannot be lured into any form of compensation for good grades. Others are just bad news!
There are those lecturers whom you just have to pray they never notice you, because if they do-you’re either guaranteed of a supplementary or grade D if you don’t have sex with them.
So for such you have to arrive for classes on time, sit somewhere amidst people, hand in your assignments on time and not do anything that may need you to meet them in private.
On the other hand, if you have the money to fully compensate the lecturers for good grades and skipping classes scot free, good for you
In campus I must admit the expenses are way higher than the income sources, mostly parents and HELB
You want to afford yourself that latest infinix everyone has, have all the handouts, eat pizza and ice cream every offer day. Have nice human hair, nice clothes and shoes, smell good, be seen as cool and trendy. All these come with a price
So most campus ladies opt for promos which are marketing jobs for products done in supermarkets and pubs especially over the weekends. The jobs pay around 1000 bob to 2000 per day/night.
When in these places the exposure is BIG-the lucky few who get stores in malls and supermarkets in Porsche estates land “sponsors” who come as customers who like your friendliness, ask for your number, invite you for coffee or dinner and the rest is history.
I must admit they’re life changers because your life suddenly becomes interesting!
They’re always catching flights and tagging cool locations on instagram. The sponsor doesn’t mind paying off the lecturer for good grades to get to spend more time with his “fresh meat”
Lecturers also have a hard time with students. There are those who prey on them. Come to class late in VERY revealing clothes, send text messages to lecturers late nights, never hand in their assignments on time just to get private time
Campus is just a den in which you either make yourself or brake
It all narrows down to C.H.O.I.C.E.S
